The Brothers Crisp is an artisan, hand sewn moccasin local footwear company based out of Hartford’s Parkville neighborhood. The Brothers Crisp’s founder Joshua Westbrook first established a substantial following for his brand on Instagram, designing and hand-crafting one-off custom shoes for customers around the world. Westbrook and his team have since shifted their focus towards the production of a full line of branded American made footwear. Their variations on the traditional techniques of moccasin construction are both timeless, beautiful and innovative, durable, and – unlike any other brand in the world – hand-sewn in Hartford.

Store

Each month, we release a limited collection of American made footwear, handcrafted by our small team. We source only as much material as we need to create our small batches of local footwear. Before the launch of each new collection, we will construct the most popular sizes. This means that not every size will be immediately available, and can take up to 8 weeks to ship. We will communicate shipping time individually.

Hand-Dyed High-Top

$748.00

Our first sneaker release, the Hand-Dyed High-Top. We start with a 13 oz, european bull hide that is pit tanned at Joseph Clayton & Sons in England. We hand-dye it a deep ultramarine and then work the leather to create the incredibly thick yet supple upper that needs to be felt to be believed. The shoe is accented and reinforced with veg tan: a 9 oz heal counter, a tumbled, padded ankle-collar and a hand-sewn pull-tab. Final details include a contoured hand-sewn arch detail on either side of the upper, and a calfskin lined footbed. The High-Top is finished with a gum cupsole made by Margom in Italy.
